Last year, 2016 was a very busy year for so many artistes as almost every artiste wanted to be counted. It was like the entire industry was in a competition with Albums, Mixtapes and E.P been released almost every month from different artistes.
2017 is here and some artistes have already revealed their intentions of releasing their body of works. This year is going to be amazing as we have projects from top artistes set for release. We made our research and this is the list of 5 Nigerian artistes we believe would thrill us this year with an Album, Mixtape or E.P.
1 Korede Bello
The Mega Super Star of Mavin Records, Korede Bello is one artistes who has remained consistent with his music. Last year was an amazing for the young star as he proved over and over again that he is not a one hit wonder. He gave us hits from last year like “Romantic“, “Mungo Park“, “One & Only” and “Do Like That” which is currently one of the biggest song in the country. I got a hint from a strong source in Korede Bello’s camp that he is gearing up towards the release of his debut album this year under Mavin Records. We can only wait for him to make it official and announce the release date.
2 Tekno
Pana crooner, Tekno was the biggest winner for 2016. His music and career went from just being an average artiste to becoming Africa’s most sort after artiste. He won several awards that made him a force to be reckon with in the Nigerian music industry. His winning streak didn’t just end there, he got signed to one of the biggest music label in the world, Sony Music. Just as we entered 2017 he made a big revelation that his debut album is almost ready for consumption. Meaning that we should be expecting the album any time soon. He titled the album “Half An Hour“.
3 Mr Eazi
Mr Eazi is one of the biggest revelation for last year, 2016. He has one of most intereting success story from a normal Nigerian boy from Accra, Ghana to been spotted by Wizkid and later signed to Starboy Records. His story is outstanding and his rise to prominence proves that hardwork pays. Immedately he got signed to Starboy Records his music spread like wide fire all over Nigeria as almost every artiste and dj wanted to collaborate with him. To crown up the year he organized his first musical concert in Nigeria and it recorded an all round success. He revealed the release date of his much anticipated mixtape “Life Is Eazi – (Accra To Lagos)” which is set for release in February, 2017
4 Jesse Jagz
Chocolate City and Jagz Nation rapper, Jesse Jagz has promised and failed his fans over and over again for his failure to keep to his promise to release his long awaited album. The talented rapper has revealed on 3 different occassions when he plans to release his album but he hasn’t been able to live up to his promise. In December, 2017 he apologized to his fans for his inability to release his earlier mentioned “Odysseus” album. His fans are expecting the release of his postponed “Odysseus” album this year. We hope he can live up to his promise this time.
5 Wizkid
Daddy Yo!! Just last week Wizkid revealed through his twitter page about his plans to release four (4) mixtapes this year, 2017. Wizkid whose latest single “Daddy Yo” is enjoying massive airplay and love from his fans worldwide isn’t leaving any stone unturned this year as he plans to give us a rollercoaster ride with four different mixtape. The singer plans to release his much anticipated “Sound From The Other Side” mixtape first amidst possible joint mixtape with Wande Coal. 2016 was an amazing year for the starboy and 2017 looks to be even greater.
