Increase Corpers Allowance - Ayo Fayose Tells Governors

 Ayo Fayose, Ekiti State governor, has appealed to the Federal government to increase the allowance of NYSC members from N19, 800 to N50, 000.

 Represented at the ceremony by the state Commissioner for Information, Youths and Sports, Mr Lanre Ogunsuyi, Governor Fayose, pledged to make youth corps members stay in the state a memorable one.

Ayo Fayose made the appeal at the closing ceremony of the orientation course of the 2017 batch “A” stream in the state.
He said- “The state government will provide all the necessary support for the Corps members to make their service year memorable in the state”.

Naira dramatically recovered on Wednesday to 405 per dollar, less than 24 hours after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) monetary policy committee (MPC) meeting. In Abuja, the naira is currently trading between 405 to 410 per dollar, while the British pound is going for 520/523 all at the parallel market. For Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, traders are selling at 415 per dollar, and buying at 410. The pound and euro were also going for 530 and 460 respectively. On Tuesday, after the CBN MPC voted to keep existing monetary policies, Godwin Emefiele warned speculator that the bank had all it takes to sustain its prevailing interventions. He said those who think the policy actions were not sustainable, are on the wrong side of the bet. “I am happy, indeed very gratified that those interventions have proved very positive. South African gay musician, Kolo Bala has lost the battle against a three-years long encounter with Anal Cancer. He died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at a hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. Bala was diagnosed with the disease in 2013 and was quite open about his predicament, determining that he will overcome the health challenge by all means. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. He is a member of the music group 3sum, also the second to die after the passing of group member, Jeff Moyo in 2010, making Amstel Maboa as its only survivor.
